Alaska, Day 3
Today we awoke at the northern tip of Glacier Bay, the Marjorie Glacier. Glacier Bay is a must-see stop for all the Alaska cruises. Two large ships are allowed in each day, as well as numerous smaller ones like ours.
Marjorie is a fast moving, blue glacier that calves often, so we stayed close for an hour or so and saw a few small calving events. Then we spent the rest of the day cruising south though the park seeing more glaciers and beautiful scenery, and spotting a number of animals, including mountain goats, steller sea lions, brown bears, sea otters, and lots of birds.
