Jerusalem Day 2

Today we took a tour of the Old City of Jerusalem, but skipped the top sites since we will see them tomorrow. It was a great day; entered the Jaffa Gate, walked south around the Armenian Quarter, couldn’t go out the gate to see Mt Zion due to some unknown security issue, found an overlook to see the Mt of Olives to the east, toured the Jewish Quarter, passed the Western Wall on our way to the Muslim Quarter, had a great lunch (best Hummus ever), snuck in a dessert stop for a taste (yummy pastry with a goat cheese center – called Kanafeh), then a brief walk through the Christian quarter, finishing up by walking the ramparts from the Jaffa Gate to the Damascus Gate. There are well-armed police and military at every Gate and at points throughout the city, but no signs of problems anywhere.
